Setting Up Membership Products
Below is a quick guide on setting up a new Membership product.
When adding a new product:
* Set the Product Type to "Membership". The 'Membership' product type should already be set up in products table.
* Do NOT set the Access Key. Setting an Access Key on the first page will determine who can view this product. Unless you wish to restrict access to this product, you will leave the Access Key field set to "none".
* The Product Description should include the duration of the Membership and whether or not it will auto-renew.
After saving the first product form you can then edit the "Membership Info" of the Pricing form.
* Set the Access Keys here. The Access Keys on the Pricing form determine what keys are being sold.
* Set the number of days the membership is good for.
* Set the Auto Renewing to Yes or No.
* The "Renew to a Different Product" field allows you to create Trial Membership offers such as "2 days free then billed monthly at regular rates." The product you wish to renew to must already be created.
Some sites may want to list only the trial offer, not the regular recurring membership on the site. You can control which products are displayed by setting the "Display?" field on the Display tab to turn off the regular membership. The product can still be used for recurring billing by the system even if the Display field is set to "No."
